Shoemaker’s Lamp

My tradesman's office needed a lamp, and I thought this old shoemaker's equipment would be perfect.

The Original

The original shoemaker's stand was mounted on an old wooden block, with two additional iron pieces that I thought could make an interesting base for the lamp. I wanted to keep as much of the original character as possible.

The Process

I cleaned up the original stand, arranged the two iron pieces around the base, and added the wiring and lamp socket. I kept the original metal and wood largely intact.

The Result

The finished lamp kept the character of the original shoemaker's stand while giving it a new purpose. With the added shade and salvaged iron details, it became a functional piece for my tradesman's office without losing its history.
