Trunk Media Cabinet
An old trunk turned on its side, stair-step shelving for my DVDs, and two lamps to bring it all together.
The Original
I started with an old trunk that I already had. It had good bones, solid hardware, and a look I liked, so I decided to turn it on its side and use it as a cabinet
The Process
I turned the trunk on its side and added stair-step shelving to hold the DVDs. After adding some “feet”, I installed the lighting, an extensible lamp arm for the interior and a table lamp on top.
The Result
The finished cabinet keeps the character of the original trunk while giving it a new purpose. It holds my DVD collection, with a reading lamp on top and an adjustable light inside so everything is easy to see.
